To wash, gently submerge the unit in a basin of lukewarm water mixed with a salon-grade, sulfate-free shampoo. Smooth the shampoo through the strands in a downward motion, avoiding twisting or wringing the silk base. Rinse thoroughly with cool water, apply a nourishing hair mask or high-end conditioner from mid-shaft to ends, and rinse again. Blot gently with a microfiber towel and allow it to air-dry completely on a dedicated wig stand or mannequin head.
